Directed by GmbH is a homebase for the directing work of Matthias Berndt.
With Matthias being one of today’s top automotive shooters our work expands to a broad variety, be it lifestyle, beauty, storytelling or real people work.

Working in many regions worldwide we have built up a whole network of productions, freelance producers, DOPs, editors, composers and CGI artists. Depending on the job clients and productions book Matt just as a freelance director. Or they make use of a complete package from the directed by GmbH to have directing, production and service united under one roof.

After a dozen years into his international carreer Matt has preserved his down-to-earthness and his adventurous spirit. With every project he caters his own curiosity and loves to explore some new ways. Working in many regions worldwide directed by has developed its own network in the US, in Spain including Canarian Islands, Germany and in South Africa.

Matthias and his team speaks fluently German, English, partly French and Spanish.
Our numerous awards include Silver in Cannes, Gold on the New York Festivals (2008 & 2003), the International Film and TV Festival Los Angeles (GOLD in 2007 & 2003) and a Silver Animago Award  for his CGI work.
